With silver prices rising, we wanted to offer a low-pressure, affordable way for beginners to practise the basics before working with silver.
Copper clay behaves very similarly to silver clay, making it ideal for learning shaping, joining, and gem-setting techniques.

⚠️ Important notes & disclaimer

• Firing copper clay:
  Copper clay is difficult to fire successfully on a home gas stove. Due to oxidation, the surface may turn dark or black when fired in open air.
  Proper firing requires burying the piece in activated carbon and firing in a kiln at around 850°C for approximately 30 minutes.
• Wearability:
  Copper can be worn directly on the skin, but it may cause green discoloration due to oxidation. For this reason, copper jewellery is usually coated.
  We recommend using copper clay as a practice material only, rather than for finished jewellery intended for long-term wear.
